We are going to Cancún this week for our anniversary!!!
The truth is, we’ve never been that great at celebrating our wedding anniversary. That in itself is hard to understand, as I am a girl who likes to celebrate. I don’t mean that we should have trips or anything super fancy (like this time – yay!), but that somehow, every year, it sneaks up on us.
One time, we were brushing our teeth in the bathroom, getting ready for bed, and Alex’s parents call. With a mouth full of bubbles, I answer “hawo?” and then I hear this very excited cheer on the other side: “Happy Anniversary!!!!!” Alex and I both looked at each-other, a little embarrassed. His parents could not believe we didn’t even know that day was our anniversary…
That is the level when I say we’re not great at it. We’re really not great.
This time, however, just out of the blue, for no particular reason, on our 17th wedding anniversary – we are going to Mexico!!!! 5 days of sun, beach, champagne, and bliss.
Feeling overwhelmingly grateful…
