I work with a #real #life #superhero

Today I find out that Lou Ballarin, who is our VP of Real Estate (he finds sites for our CEFA schools, etc.), saved a 14 year old girl from drowning this past week-end! He was in Point Roberts and a girl dove into the ocean to recover her flip-flop, which fell in. Within minutes, she was drowning, and Lou just jumped in, got her, and just swam against the current until he safely got her back to shore.
It gets better: the girl and her friends quickly went home after the incident, and Lou went back to where he was staying. A while later, a man came knocking on the door asking if he had heard about someone saving a girl from drowning earlier that day. He had been asking everyone around. When he found out it was Lou, he introduced himself as the father of the girl and as a member of the Burnaby Fire Department. He thanked him warmly, and offered Lou a reward for saving his daughter. Of course, like all real superheroes, Lou wanted nothing as a reward. He was just happy to have gotten there on time!
Wow…
I can’t believe I work with someone of that caliber! One of our Core Values at CEFA is to Inspire, and Lou certainly inspired our team today! What an example to follow! And you know what he said? “I’m glad I took all those swimming lessons as a kid, they finally paid off!” – good to know as a parent, right?
SO PROUD!

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
